Andy Tupholme - Director

A clear head for figures, Andy Tupholme brings financial rigour to the Key Fund board. Andy has held a number of non-exec directorships, including a leading solar panel provider, Customs Solar, and HR software recruitment business, Tribepad.

Andy went to school in a mining village in Sheffield. With a very successful career in finance, he wanted to use his skills and time to give something back to his local community. He joined Key Fund’s board in 2016 and sits on the main board and Investment Committee.

Since training as a chartered accountant at Ernst & Young, Andy became Associate Director of Corporate Finance at PricewaterhouseCoopers. He then moved into private equity – as Partner at Gresham Private Equity and Managing Partner Designate at Greencoat Capital.

With 20 years at the sharp end of investments, Andy has managed eye-watering investments with a track record of success. It’s this clear head for figures and robust approach that is so valued at Key Fund.

Strengthening Key Fund’s own financial position has helped ensure the organisation is better placed to weather the economic storm from the pandemic – and in turn, help Key Fund clients the best it can.

Key Fund has changed Andy’s outlook. It’s been a personal learning curve, factoring in the social – not just the financial – return on investments. He enjoys working in a kind and progressive culture.  In fact, he sees Key Fund to be nothing short of phenomenal; no other organisation matches their ability to invest in the most deprived communities, where it can have the biggest impact, despite the higher financial risk.

Now he looks at the social impact of investment as well as pounds, shilling and pence.
