Andy Croft - Investment Manager
In his 22-year career at Barclays, Andy rose through the ranks. His closing role was a Corporate Business Manager, where he helped customers build their businesses, typically with turnovers of £250,000 to £1m.
Andy then decided it was time to explore life outside the world of banking. He set up a property renovation franchise, turning his hobby into a career. It became a victim of the recession, but the business stint gave him a renewed passion for using finance to help start-up enterprise, which led him to the Key Fund.
Andy joined Key Fund in 2013. As one of the most experienced Investment Managers, he understands the power of social enterprise to tackle endemic issues. He developed best practice to create watertight funding applications for the ground-breaking £3.8m More Than a Pub programme, which ran from late 2016 to March 2021, with Power to Change and the Plunkett Foundation.
During his time at Key Fund, Andy has worked in every corner of its geographical reach, including the North West, North East, the Midlands and Cumbria. He currently covers Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. He consistently reaches a diverse range of social enterprises, with healthy investments made year-on-year.
A strong team player, he’s known for mentoring and supporting younger colleagues with his patience, guidance and approachable manner.
Andy gives 100% effort to investment applications and his clients’ needs, ensuring a detailed understanding of the business to mitigate risk, while balancing the human impact behind the figures. For him, the beauty and reward of the job is how Key Fund clients go on to help other people.
